I am a registered psychologist in Melbourne, Australia, and hold a doctorate in counselling psychology. My doctoral thesis looked at narratives of therapy and recovery amongst those with enduring depression. Since then, I have been passionate about helping people re-story their lives and discover new insights and purpose.
I offer EMDR, psychodynamic & experiential therapy, and incorporate more practical cognitive-behavioural approaches as needed. With couples, I provide emotion-focused therapy (EFT).
WHO I WORK WITH: ADULTS, TEENS & COUPLES
I work with adults & teenagers, as well as couples, across a range of concerns. I tend to work well with those who are:
wanting in-depth therapy that looks at recurring themes and patterns in your life
struggling with the effects of trauma (including PTSD, complex trauma and childhood sexual abuse)
experiencing depression or anxiety, including generalised anxiety, social anxiety, panic disorder, phobias, and OCD
struggling with self-worth, or searching for a sense of identity
experiencing dissociation (feeling detached, numb, or disconnected from yourself or your surroundings)
couples going through conflict, communication difficulties, parenting challenges, or difficulties arising due to mental health problems
struggling with diabetes or other chronic health problems
HOW I WORK
My therapeutic approach is integrative. I tailor therapy according to the person or couple’s needs and preferences. I am mainly influenced by Existential, Experiential, Psychodynamic frameworks and EMDR therapy.
My hope for therapy is that it promotes understanding, self-expression, and acceptance.
The therapeutic modalities I have been trained in and use include:
EMDR Therapy (Eye Movement Desensitisation and Reprocessing)
Psychodynamic Therapy
Experiential / Somatic Therapy
Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT)
Exposure and Response Prevention (ERP) Therapy
Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT)
Internal Family Systems (IFS) Therapy
Emotion-Focused Therapy (EFT)
